Head Start and Early Head Start are high quality childcare and preschool programs for children from 6-weeks old until they enter kindergarten. All Head Start teachers are highly qualified educators specializing in early education and prepare children with the school-readiness skills they need to success. Head Start and Early Head Start are provided to eligible families at no cost. In Northern Fairfield County, CIFC also offers a School Readiness Program that provides all of the benefits of head start to families on a sliding fee scale based on need.
CIFC's Danbury Community Center (DCC) offers a variety of classes and activities to get and keep Danbury active. In "The Gym," the DCC offers a rotation of open basketball and volleyball in addition to pickleball courts that can be reserved. In the Studio, the DCC offers Yoga and Zumba classes at a fraction of the price of other studios. The DCC Pool, Danbury's only indoor, public pool, offers open swim and swimming lessons taught by our Red Cross certified instructors to individuals of all ages and abilities.
The DCC is a great place for a birthday party, and all facilities are available to be rented for private functions.
CIFC manages the 70 unit Beaver Street Apartment Complex (BSAC), a Section 8 complex under the oversight of The Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). BSAC houses more than 300 residents in affordable units ranging from 1 to 5 bedrooms and complete with a small, private, enclosed yard.
CIFC is currently working to double our affordable housing portfolio by developing an affordable Senior Housing complex behind our building at 120 Main Street in Danbury.
