Welcome to Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc
CIFC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been a part of the community since it was founded in 2003. Headquartered on Main Street in the heart of Downtown Danbury, CIFC exists to serve and strengthen our communities through education, housing, wellness, and health care. Serving Norwalk and Greater Danbury, CIFC serves individuals and families at every stage in their lives. CIFC Health serves all ages in our award-winning Health Center - the only Teaching Health Center in Connecticut. From pediatric to geriatric patients, the dedicated care teams of CIFC Health provide medical, dental, and behavioral care on a sliding fee scale, ensuring access for all. CIFC Health also and has a women's clinic for reproductive care and operates the WIC program that provides nutritional support for new mothers and their young children. CIFC manages the Head Start and Early Head Start programs for Norwalk and Northern Fairfield County, making high quality early-education accessible to families for whom it might not otherwise be attainable. More than 300 residents live at Beaver Street Apartment Complex in Danbury, a Section 8 apartment complex overseen by HUD and managed by CIFC. We also have basketball courts and Danbury's only indoor public pool at the Danbury Community Center, where we offer aquatic activities, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, yoga, Zumba, and more to beat the heat or escape the ice.
